KINGSTON, N.Y. — A closing minutes rally came up short for Kingston Stockade FC as it fell to Valeo FC of Newton, Massachusetts, at Dietz Memorial Stadium on Saturday, June 5.
With Stockade trailing 2-0 after two counterattacks by Valeo in the first half, Richard Morris kept Kingston in the match with a late goal in the 90th minute. Zac Vanikiotis pushed through to create the opportunity, with Alessio hernandez playing the perfect pass, but time ran out on Stockade’s comeback bid
With the loss, Kingston falls to 1-2-2 and fourth in National Premier Soccer League North Atlantic Conference standings, but holding onto the final postseason slot.
Stockade will travel to Hartford, Conn., to face the first place and undefeated Hartford City FC (3-0-1) at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 11.
